Norwei is a hip-hop and electronica producer based in Madison, WI. Growing up in the midwest, Norwei began his musical career as a keyboardist. He worked with local Madison bands such as Oh My Love and Chris Labella.
While he enjoys playing with bands, he found producing and creating the music to be his passion. Over the past few years, he has worked with the area's most revered rappers, including Trapo, Ra'Shaun, CRASHprez, Lucien Parker, and Rich Robbins.
In August 2016, Norwei co-produced "Beg" for Trapo featuring Skizzy Mars, which garnered widespread attention from influential blogs such as HotNewHipHop and Pigeons and Planes, gaining over 200,000 plays in it's first month. In September 2016, he co-produced songs for Ra'Shaun's debut album Kolors, which also received widespread acclaim.
In November 2016, he served as executive producer on Trapo's debut album Shade Trees, which was listed in Pigeons and Planes Top 50 Albums of 2016, securing Trapo's position as one of the country's most prominent up and coming rappers.
Norwei finds inspiration from the smooth instrumentation that defined the music of classic hip-hop producers such as J Dilla, P Diddy, Pete Rock and MF Doom fused with modern hip-hop beats like those from producers Metro Boomin and 40.
